AVON HIGH SCHOOL RENOVATIONS ADDITIONS BUILDING COMMITTEE
SPECIAL MEETING - AUGUST 3, 2006
MINUTES
I. CALL TO ORDER - The meeting was called to order at 7:30 a.m. by Chairman Hank Frey. Members present: Jeff Brighenti, Ann Dearstyne, Jim Eacott and Bob Paine.
II. COMMUNICATION FROM AUDIENCE - None.
III. COMMUNICATION FROM MEMBERS - None.
IV. APPROVAL OF ADDITIONAL FUNDS
a. FIP - Final figure for Committee Approval
Revised Packet from FIP now shows Construction costs of $27,474.350, with an additional Owner's Soft Costs of $3,211,950 or a total Cost of $30,686,300.
This figure includes Alternates #3 (Replace Existing LCC Fascia), #4 (Re-paint existing EIFS), #5 (Re-Key Existing Locks) and #7 (Ground Face Block at Interior). Alternate #8 (sod in lieu of seed) will be deferred until Owner Contingency. Alternate #9 (Town Shelter) will have a separate accounting method - payment to be determined. The $50,000 administration fees, reported by the Town Manager, will be carried under Owners Contingency.
b. Vote of the Committee to recommend to the Town Council theadditional funds needed.
These actual Bid figures actually exceed original Construction Manager estimates by $4,688,300. If the Committee approves, we will plan a Referendum for October 11th, with the Town Meeting being held on September 7th.
On a motion made by Mr. Paine, seconded by Mrs. Dearstyne, it was voted:
RESOLVED: That the Avon High School Renovations Building Committee recommends to the Town Council, an addition of $4,688,300, to the HighSchool Project.
Members, Frey, Brighenti, Dearstyne, Eacott and Paine voted in favor.
V. ADJOURNMENT
On a motion made by Mr. Paine, seconded by Mrs. Dearstyne, it was voted:
RESOLVED: That the AHS Renovations Building Committee adjourn at 8:05 a.m.
Members, Frey, Brighenti, Dearstyne, Eacott and Paine voted in favor.
